E is for Electricity - AtoZChallenge 2016

If you live in a city then your electricity may be generated far from you and arrive via cable.
Now if you live in Boulia you are too far from a large powerhouse
and too expensive for cables to come so far, so the town has its own powerhouse. It is a diesel run generator and quieter than I expected for such a large one. So thanks to their powerhouse they are in touch with the rest of the world and not as isolated as they were in the past.  Mobile phone reception is good if you use Telstra as your provider but reception about 20Km out is back to nothing. However internet is good and the Australia Hotel, the Desert Sands Motel and the Min Min encounter have free wifi.
What would we do without electricity now?
